I am sure this comment is coherent in your own mind, but many of us are left wondering what your point is....

MsBulldawg- SO just what did you not understand?OR to use one of your own thousand dollar words in a proper language you High Society people can relate to? Mam just what was not coherent to you? OR are you new to Madison Co. AND have not heard about the water lines being old and currently failing OR are you one of those people who have their head stuck in the sand and think the BOC and IDA have fixed everything in Madison Co. the right way instead of patching it up to get by?

Water. Build it and they will come. It used to be roads and still is to some extent, but one can make one's own short road while water is getting scarce and takes serious investment to produce and distribute properly for the public. It would be good for IDA or Ms. Richards to find out what that "plan" is instead of working toward something of vague value; it sounds a little like stumbling around in the dark to hurry and get somewhere.

I say Dam the South Broad here in Madison County and create lake of thousands of acres. Sell the water and the economic benefits of people using lake will help our struggling county.

Isn't that called Lake Deerfield? It's not that big and is privately owned now, but it's just for flood control. It's so shallow from silt that fish have a hard time breathing in the summer heat. Sooner or later it will all be a wetland like the north end is now unless the property owners fronting the lake pay to have it dredged.

MC- I agree BUT then a problem comes up? Where are they going to find thousands of acres all together? OR finding someone willing to sell their land could be a problem? Because you know the BOC or the IDA WON'T want to pay top dollar for it? They'll want to pay rock bottom prices even though they will make money off the lake they won't want to figure that into it. Jackson Co. built their own lake off Hwy. 129 between Arcade and Athens? I agree WHY couldn't Madison Co, do the same thing?

Resident Redneck maybe dam on river at 281 bridge or Wlldcat bridge with road over dam would be OK. Pay good price for land. Make 1000 to 2000 acre lake and back it up to Hwy 29 bridge area. Maybe dam lower part of South Broad at it approaches Watson Mill area would be OK. Property in this area should not cost that much. Business would be OK for shop owners. Fee to launch boat and all. Why not ?

ex-kayaker- I agree BUT Madison Co. will say they would have to pay someone to stay there to collect the boat launch fees? When they could take someone already employed with the county and move them?

Dam on some river out here with big lake would help my business.
