A Danielsville teen and a juvenile were arrested last week for stealing vehicles owned by Madison County Commission Chairman Wesley Nash.
According to an incident report from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Nash reported the theft at 1 a.m., Sept. 15, at 612 Hwy. 98 W. The vehicles stolen included a four-door BMW and a Ford F-250 super duty work truck.
While one deputy spoke with Nash, another located a stolen vehicle at the intersection of Old Gin Road and Irvin Kirk Road.
“The vehicle was then returned back to Mr. Nash,” the incident report stated. “Once Mr. Nash returned the incident location, the suspects, Randy Thomas and (a juvenile) pulled off of New Haven Church Road in a vehicle described by Mr. Nash that the suspects were driving.”
The deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspects kept going. A vehicle chase ensued that ended on Macedonia Church Road where the suspects were taken into custody.
Randy Randolph Thomas, 18, 1060 Peach Orchard Road, Danielsville, faces two counts of theft by taking motor vehicle, sale of alcohol to minor underage consumption, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, obstruction of an officer, DUI underage, reckless driving and driving without a license.
