A Madison County man was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court to 15 years in prison for child molestation.
Daniel Thomas Forrester, 21, 144 Pine Street, Danielsville, was convicted of molesting two females under the age of 16 in July 2012. He was sentenced to 15 years confinement and 15 years probation on four charges of child molestation and 15 years confinement and five years probation on another child molestation charge. Forrester was also sentenced to 15 years confinement and five years probation on four sodomy charges. A charge of cruelty to children in the first degree was merged with a child molestation charge. He was fined a total of $8,750.
Prosecutors chose not to seek convictions on one count of furnishing obscene materials to minors and four counts of aggravated child molestation.
Other actions filed recently in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Madison County included:
•Antonio Luvara Barnes, 35, 28 Fox Trail, Athens, was sentenced to six years confinement and 14 years probation for aggravated assault. Barnes was also sentenced to six years confinement and four years probation for aggravated stalking, five years confinement for false imprisonment and one year confinement for interference with a 9-1-1 call and driving while license suspended or revoked. He was also fined a total of $2,025. Prosecutors chose not to seek a conviction on a charge of battery.
•Brandy Denean McLaughlin, 30, 1246 Stone Stewart Road, Hull, was sentenced to five years probation for fleeing or attempting to elude an officer for felony and one year probation for driving while license suspended or revoked, obstruction of officers, too fast for conditions, reckless driving, failure to stop for a stop sign and failure to maintain. She was also fined $2,425. Prosecutors chose not to seek a conviction on a charge of aggravated assault on a peace officer.
•Andrew Melvin Dove, 25, 2342 Noble Road, Carlton, was sentenced to seven years probation and fined $1,037 for theft by taking.
•Christopher Wallace, 44, 1290 Davids Home Church Road, Comer, was sentenced to 10 years probation and fined $1,350 for theft by taking. A charge of failure to appear was dismissed.
•Lance Ray Coile, 18, 354 Ricks Road, Lavonia, was sentenced to seven years probation for criminal damage to property in the second degree and three years probation for influencing witnesses. He was also fined $1,400. Prosecutors chose not to seek a conviction on a charge of burglary.
•Cory Steven Welch, no age available, 3092 Cherokee Road, Comer, was sentenced to five years probation for receipt, possession or transfer of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to one year probation for hunting without a license and for hunting without permission. He was fined a total of $1,307. Prosecutors chose not to pursue convictions on charges of hunting without a big game license, hunting with an unlawful weapon and failure to wear fluorescent orange clothing.
•Eddie Adam Hicks, 30, 3346 Rogers Mill Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to 10 years confinement for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a schedule II controlled substance, five years confinement for two counts of receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by a convicted felon and one count of criminal attempt to commit a felony and one year confinement for fleeing or attempting to elude a police office, speeding and obstruction of officers. Charges of drugs not in original container, possession of drug-related objects/equipment, weaving over roadway, too fast for conditions, instruction and permits and failure to use correct signal were dismissed.
•Cody Lee Seymour, 23, 755 South Railroad Avenue, Carlton, was sentenced to one year probation, 120 hours of community service and was fined $387 for simple battery (reduced from aggravated assault).
•William Daniel Warwick, 45, 1136 Old Elberton Road #8, Hull, was sentenced to three years confinement for forgery in the first degree and forgery in the second degree. Prosecutors chose not to seek convictions on two counts of theft by receiving stolen property.
•Lisa Nicole Sims, 24, 80 Hunters Ridge Lane, Nicholson, was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $950 for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
