Deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, along with agents from the Piedmont Northern Narcotics Squad, the Athens/Clarke County Drug and Vice Unit and the Drug Enforcement Agency, intercepted a shipment of methamphetamine bound for Madison County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officers apprehended Baldemar Estrada, 21, an illegal alien, of 88 Sandy Acres Land, Turkey, NC, during a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Hwy. 98 Food Mart in Madison County, and seized a half pound of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $11,000.
According to the press release, Estrada is being held in the Madison County Jail pending a federal indictment.
You state, "no drugs, no addicts." Meth is easily manufactured with readily available chemicals. So, actually, cutting off the supply of other, safer drugs only forces addicts to turn to - yep, you guessed it - meth. Meth pretty much rots a person out from the inside and very fast. Meth is the "drug of no return." So, the drug war is also one of the reasons we have seen ENORMOUS increases in meth use, and why we have seen ENORMOUS increases in property crimes as the meth users steal to get cash to get the, now even more expensive, meth.
How do you like knowing your tax dollars are going to make drug dealers wealthy?
You say we have "tried your way." Please cite just ONE instance in the United States where a municipality or state has legalized all drugs. Please, just give ONE example. I look forward to learning something new!
You only make the case that is high time we DO try our way!
As far as drugs being damaging to the individuals who CHOOSE to consume them, you are correct. Alcohol kills thousands of people with the damage it does to their body. However, that is THEIR CHOICE. Alcohol users have the RIGHT TO CHOOSE and then they must be RESPONSIBLE and ACCOUNTABLE for their choices. We need to take the same approach with all drugs that we take with alcohol. If we can legalize and tolerate the most dangerous drug of all, alcohol, surely we can use the same approach with all other drugs. If you choose to use and abuse, then society is under no obligation to do anything for you. It's called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. We need to get back to it. We won't, though, because the drug dealers make too much money, which they give to politicians and lobbyists, who brainwash people like yourself into believing the "drug war" is somehow accomplishing something. All those billions the dealers use to buy politicians, combined with the billions in taxes paid to the law enforcement / prison money machine, means the dealers are getting rich off the drug sales, and the private prison enterprises are getting rich off your tax dollars.
Let's face it. Making drugs illegal hasn't worked. Sales and consumption are always increasing and are at an all time high even after over 30 years of "drug war." My grandma said if what you're doing isn't working, try something new. Why are people so opposed to trying new solutions instead of continuing to do what doesn't work? Why not try legalization? What have we got to lose? What we're doing is resulting in more drug use - why do you want more drug use?
think you are better than my husband you've got another
thought coming. my husband (mr. Estrada) is a good man.
Yes he may be mexican but that is no reason for some of
the comments on this page. Why is everything about color
these days? Another thing is if there wasnt so many meth
heads in GA he would not have been there. you need to talk
to you'r neighbors, children, spouses, and loved ones and
find out what they are really doing when they take a quick
trip to the bathroom, or lock thereself in their room away
from every one. DONT JUDGE MY HUSBAND for something you
probally do in your on time and have just been lucky
enough not to get caught yet.
Also how would you feel if it where your son, husband, or
loved one? would you still want him dead? No, the only
reason you say that is because he is mexican. Not because
of the drugs. Guess what it was a white man who was buying
the meth from mr. estrada. what about him? wheres he at?
I dont see him in jail? Madison has some really scrued up
people. The police is so crucked they couldnt see straight
even if they wanted to.
Yes i know how rednecks are. I grew up in a redneck household
but my family soon got over it when they got to know my husband.
my husband loves everything rednecks love. Hunting (mostly deer)
, big tucks, mudslinging and anything else you can think of.
dont judge my husband until you get to know him. as a matter
of fact its a sin to judge so DONT JUDGE HIM AT ALL.
, big tucks, mudslinging and anything else you can think of."
Um, like METH?
Meth: bringing cultures together. Who knew?
Just had a great image of throngs of rednecks gathererd on a hillside with throngs of Latinos, all singing "We Are The World" while holding their meth-pipes and lighters in the air. Peace through meth. Wow, lady. Your husband isn't a criminal - he's just bringing the world together.
Word of advice: shut down the computer before you hit the pipe.
should it be? its worse than drugs. the only difference is is that it kills you slower. It gives you liver cancer. what about cigeretts it gives you all kinds of cancers. now lets talk about
marajuana. how many people have you herd about having an od. i can answer that for you "none". mostly all of the bad things you hear about is with crack and cocaine. crystal gets you just like beer. its going to kill you but faster.
another thing is if there werent people buying it he wouldnt be selling it. any ways whos to say he was selling it. he want say anything to anyone including me. For all i or anyone else knows he could have been set up with it. its funny to me how a hispanic male was just spotted out as a drug dealer in one of the racest counties in gergia. also every thing that i have found out is what the cops have told me. Odd isnt it. put two and two together and see what you get. My husband has never done anything like that before so why would he start now?
Lastley if drug dealers make so much money then why is the us going into a depression? Also why would my car payment be behind? why dont i have my own home? Why? why? why? since you all seem to have the simple answers and seem to know everything tell me. maybe since it is a sin to judge maybe i should think that some of you need to be executed for judgeing him.
