Walt’s Place Restaurant in Danielsville will be closed for the next few weeks after a Thanksgiving Day fire caused damage to the building.
According to Danielsville VFD fire chief Marc Perry, the fire was called in to E-911 about 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 by passersby, who saw smoke coming from the restaurant, which was closed for Thanksgiving.
Perry said the fire started in the drop ceiling in the dining area of the restaurant, catching insulation on fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
No one was injured. Perry said Comer VFD was called in as back up.
A Facebook posting by the owners say they plan to re-open in a few weeks and they thanked their customers and the community for their support.
