Madison County commissioners have a number of roads they want to see paved or resurfaced in the county. And the group will have some funding in 2014 to make several projects a reality.
On Monday, the board voted on what roads are first on the list. The district commissioners put forth one road in their district to be funded through the 2014 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) program through the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The initial roads that will get attention with LMIG funding are Aderhold Rogers Road, with an estimated cost of $235,000; Young Harris Road, $215,000; Spratlin Mill Road, $290,000; Transco Road, $290,000; and Moriah Church Road, $280,000.
The projected total cost for these projects is $1.3 million.
