A Danielsville woman was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court to one year probation and 30 hours of community service for homicide by vehicle in the second degree.
Jessica Resmondo, 32, 1247 Jones Chapel Shiloh Road, Danielsville, was also sentenced to one year probation for following too closely.
Resmondo was driving a Volkswagon Passat on Hwy. 29, Feb. 29, 2012, and rear-ended a Saturn SL1, causing the death of Arthur White, 74, Canon, whose vehicle was spun around by the impact, before colliding with a pickup truck.
Other actions filed recently in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Madison County include:
•Troy Price Marker, 43, 2879 Hwy. 98 West, Danielsville, was sentenced to three years probation for possession of cocaine and one year probation for pedestrian under the influence and obstruction of officers. He was also fined a total of $710.
•Anthony Reginald Bales, 23, 30 Project Street Apt. 466B, Colbert, was sentenced to one year confinement for DUI, failure to maintain lane and possession or carrying a concealed weapon without a license. A charge of DUI drugs was dismissed.
Wow! She got 30 days community service and 2 years probation for killing someone and the two people mentioned in this same article got bigger sentences for possession and DUI. Seems a little screwed up.
