Dear Editor:

As for Obama, first of all, his changes include dropping the Bush tax cuts and raising three times as much and passing universal healthcare. This insurance is what other countries have and the reason they come here for healthcare. It’s no good! You have to wait for six to nine months to get into a doctor’s office for surgery and by then, you could be dead. I am not a child that has to have the government hold my hand and make decisions for me. I can make my own!

He’s friends with a minister who hates whites and Jews (Jesus was a Jew, so that means he hates Jesus). He’s friends with a terrorist and college professors that were communist supporters. Now that scares me! What galls me the most is people calling him the “Messiah.” Jesus of Nazareth is my only Messiah, not Obama. What do you people do? Bow down and pray to him? Not me! I don’t want to explain myself to God. As far as I know, Jesus has not returned.

I’m not a big fan of McCain either and had considered voting independent. But he does want to protect our country and I’m all for that. Better there than here in my own backyard. When he picked Palin, I definitely changed my vote. Even though she’s only running as VP (and being compared to Obama as president) she does have more experience. He’s only a senator who sits in a big room, saying “present,” “yea,” or “nay.” He has not made a big decision for his state. Palin was governor of a state and that’s more important than senator. In Alaska, she has gotten rid of the sales tax; depending on oil prices, given every family at least $2,000 a year and also an extra $1,200 a year per family. Sounds good to me! She has cleaned up Alaskan politics and is also for drilling in this country. Some have compared her to Pontius Pilate. He tried to save Jesus. He had a murderer up against Jesus, hoping that the people would pick him instead and it was the people who wanted Jesus put to death, not Pilate.

There is always something about either party that you don’t like, but you have to pick what’s important to you. The issue of abortion comes up and so far, no president has touched this touchy issue. Even if one does in the future, whatever passes, it goes back to each individual state to decide what is done. So keep that in mind. Children should be kept out of this. No matter how good you raise them, they have a mind of their own and you cannot handcuff yourselves to them to make sure they are living the innocent life. It’s their life and their mistakes. So leave them alone.

It would seem to be an irresponsible editorial decision to publish this letter and assist this poor woman in embarrassing herself with such a public display of her ignorance.

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message. If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

By the way, John McCain is the senator who WROTE THE BILL on amnesty for illegals.

The issue in this election is a dictatorship that has crapped on the Constitution all right: and people are turning to Obama to get rid of the Republican Bush/Cheney/McCain/Chertoff/Halliburton dictatorship.

Someone mentioned the Messiah; I think you are talking about the Christian right who thought Bush was the second coming. Even Bush thought God was talking to him and telling him to be the President and the Christian right ate it up. I’m sure the selective memory of the McCain folks won’t go there but it’s fresh in my mind along with all the other things the Republican Party put us through. Many of our rights have been taken away and with a great big applaud from the Christian right. I was amazed to see how many Americans really bought all the crazy ideas the right produced. I as an Obama supporter don’t think Obama is anything but an American, like many others and me who have been hurt by the economy, the immigration problems, the war, health care problems and the lies.
Remember Dubai and the controversy surrounding Bush’s plans for granting Arab control of American ports? Profit, prejudice, politics, and paranoia?
Hey I still remember the poisioning of human food, the poisioned dog food, and all the other harmful products we were subjected to from all of these other countries Bush is so fond of and the hurtful thing is they never mentioned it or tried to do anything about it. No wonder Republicans are jumping ship and fear for their jobs.
Then there is the border fence that was never put up because Bush’s dream of having a trucking road run from Mexico to Canada and guess what, Mexican truckers work for real low wages and then what will happen to all of the trucking jobs American citizens depend on.
Amnesty will only bring more people to our country and I got news, our country is broke, food, water, utilities, money, our schools and prisons are way too overcrowded and our countrymen are hurting.
As for the children, when I was in the seventh, eight and ninth grade in St. Petersburg, Florida my folks were wealthy and we lived in a wealthy neighborhood. My friends at school came from wealthy homes and most of them were Republicans while my folks were hardcore Democrats. We had the mock voting at school and I voted Republican. You are right, kids are going to make up their own minds by the time they are old enough to vote. When I was a child keeping up with my peers was important to me, and that no longer matters.
Today I vote with my mind and any body with a half-functioning mind can tell the difference and know the last eight years damaged our great nation.

Sad, but the truth is Obama could do nothing that would be bad enough to eliminate him as some peoples candidate. Even when the media does get around to filing a report like the one just aired about Ayers on CNN, it lacks any emotions or outrage. The facts may eventually be reported, but they will not be reported in a way that suggest just how bad what they’re watching is, the people who are going to vote for Obama, will not get it. You can know their cluelessness by the fact they’re supporting a man so obviously unqualified to run the most powerful country on earth. Obama is an intelligent manipulator of fact and reality, and has deceived many by his charm into thinking that he is like us; he is not, a Social Extremist is the only thing that he has proven to be. People should open their eyes, listen to the facts and not be overwhelmed with “glorious words”.

To say that people come to America for Healthcare shows how uneducated you are. Unless you have extremely good coverage, most serious illnesses leave people destitute. And at least with socialized medicine you get to see a doctor. Most doctors are the same as you would see if you paid to see a private doctor, and yes you do wait some, but you do get to see a doctor.
Senator Obama spent 8 years representing a state of over 13 million people, Governor Palin has served 20 months over a state with 650,000 people. Obama sponsored 131 bills, Palin shot a moose. Come on she does not even know the platform she stands on most times.

All of this boils down to just knowing what is right verses what is wrong. Ask yourself, did the Republicans or the Democrats climb into bed (literally) with Fannie and Freddie? Did the Republicans or the Democrats stop anyone from Congress with placing restrictions against them? Lets face it, these two companies began the downward spiral.

Did the Republicans or Democrats associate with the very same kind of people that we as a nation fear today? Someone that preaches hate, just like the radical islamic ones do; someone that blew up government buildings and showed no remorse, and actually bragged about it when he could not be convicted? Is it Republican or Democrat that states, I am not associated with those that commit voter fraud, nor have I ever been nor have I ever given money to them.... only later to come back and state, well I meant "during the general election." So does that in essence mean that he stole the primary from Hillary? By paying for votes? To the tune of 800 thousand dollars of tax payer money?

As I said, it all boils down to right and wrong. True, I, like many others, are hurting due to the economic crisis... yet what good will it do us to get out of it, to only find that our very nation has been attacked again due to liberal policies regarding those that are terrorists? Look at England... they have Islamic courts there... are we to follow? If the liberal democrats have their way, we will. So in closing, right or wrong, islamic laws that are against women and other groups, or justice for all under the Constitution. I guess its up to "we the people" and we the people need to not vote based just on our own personal greed, but on our real values.

This letter is truly sad in its ignorance.

I have lived in Canada for decades and still have family and friends up there. If you need to see you doctor the wait time is the same as in the USA or faster. If you need emergency care, the wait is the same as here in the USA. Only some discretionary procedures may require patience.

We are supposed to be a Christian nation. How we can call ourselves that and resist affordable health care for everyone is a mystery.

Every developed nation on earth has universal health care. They spend 9 to 12% of GDP to cover everyone. In the USA we spend > 15% and one in six American citizens is uncovered.

It's a disgrace and a sin.

Whatever happened to "There but for the grace of God, go I"?
