A homeless man was arrested last week on a long list of charges in connection with thefts of copper piping and other items from residential lots on Kimberly Circle in Hull.
Justin Wade Culver, 20, was charged with five counts of burglary, 12 counts of criminal damage to property in the second degree, seven counts of theft by taking and one count of criminal trespass.
In another arrest, a Danielsville man was arrested after he allegedly walked up to a residence on Rogers Mill Road. When deputies arrived at the scene they found Gregory Keith Marable, 44, Hwy. 106 A1, lying beside the driveway. According to the report, Marable was so drunk he couldn’t stand up. When the deputies on scene helped him up, he allegedly began using obscene language. At that time, Marable was placed under arrest and charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
In another arrest, James Robert McElroy, 61, of 2921 Hwy. 29 South, Colbert, was arrested for DUI last week after a reckless driver was reported on Hwy. 172. When deputy Matthew Pilkington arrived at the scene, sheriff Clayton Lowe had a blue Ford pickup stopped. A witness to the reckless driving was also pulled over. The witness stated that the driver of the truck (McElroy) was “all over the road” and had almost hit numerous cars head on. According to the report, McElroy told Pilkington he had taken Lortab, valium and xanax. He agreed to a blood test and was taken to Ty Cobb Hospital and then transported to the Madison County Jail.
