The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is still looking into who stole money from the county commissioners’ office.
GBI agent Jim Fullington said his office conducted interviews in the BOC case this week.
“We met with them some more today,” said Fullington Tuesday. “The amount is still right around $86,000 unaccounted for.”
He said an arrest or arrests “should be soon,” adding that he can’t say yet if there will be “more than one (arrest) or not.”
In a separate case, Fullington said there are “no more up to date figures yet on Danielsville, but it is increasing,” referring to the recent arrest of city clerk Michelle Dills, who was charged with stealing roughly $56,000 from the city, though that figure is expected to rise.
Fullington also said his office is still waiting for final toxicology reports on two people found dead off Hwy. 106 this summer.
The deceased were identified as Timothy Lee Sorrow, 31, Pine Street, Ila, and Tammy Marie Denmark, 39, of Lyons in Toombs County.
