Here is a look at the Sept. 30 campaign contribution reports filed by candidates in contested Madison County elections. These candidates will be required to file one more report with the county elections superintendent before the Nov. 4 elections. That report is due Oct. 25.
Sheriff
•Clayton Lowe, incumbent, Democrat — total contributions received, $20,529; expenses, $10,942. Itemized contributions listed in the Sept. 30 report include: Ed Tolley, $500; Larry Cox, $200; Gary Locke, $200; and George Cronic, $400.
•Kip Thomas, Republican — total contributions received, $7,520; expenses, $11,207. Itemized contributions listed in the Sept. 30 report include: Harriet Gray, $120; Madison County Republican Party, $500; Michael W. Maxey, $250; Russ Moon, $300; and All About Asphalt Inc., $600.
