The Madison County Republican Party will hold a forum at Madison County High School at 7 p.m., Friday, June 6, for GOP candidates for sheriff as well as Republican candidates for the U.S. Congressional District 10 seat.
Three Republicans are seeking the Madison County sheriff’s post: John Dove, Larry Smith and Kip Thomas. Two men are vying for the Congressional seat, incumbent Paul Broun and challenger Barry Fleming.
The two-hour forum will include one hour for both the sheriff’s candidates and Congressional hopefuls.
State Senator Ralph Hudgens will moderate the forum.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Anyone wanting to submit questions prior to the forum can email Madison County Republican Party Chairman Bruce Azevedo at azevedo@negia.net.
The Madison County Republican Party will hold another forum at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 26 in the high school theater for GOP candidates for county commission chairman and district commission representatives.
Azevedo said the Republicans are also planning a meet and greet at the county library on June 21.
