Georgia’s 10th Congressional District — Bobby Saxon

1. What are your thoughts on our current financial problems? What do you think Congress can do? What will you do if elected?
This financial crisis is hurting Main Street, not just Wall Street. 90 percent of the businesses in the 10th district are small businesses. Small businesses are especially hit hard by the credit crunch. Congress needs to insure that oversight and the taxpayers’ interests are at the heart of the solution. As Congressman, I will work for the constituents to make sure that their tax money works for them, not for Wall Street.

2. What should happen next in Iraq?
We need to continue our responsibility to our troops. Our brave men and women serving abroad have achieved great success. Responsible reduction of troops needs to happen quickly and safely. We also have a responsibility to the Iraqi people and the Iraqi government. We need to provide continued support for the security forces as well as the government to achieve steady and sustainable success in return for our protection and our support.

3. What are the other issues facing this country that most concern you? How will you address these issues as a Congressman?
We need a reasonable solution to the health care crisis. Too many children in Georgia are not covered by healthcare. As Congressman, I would work towards providing affordable access to health care for all of Georgia’s children. We must work with doctors, nurses, businesses, insurance companies, and our government to drive down costs and make preventative care more readily available.
