Georgia School Superintendent Kathy Cox visited the new Madison County Middle School last week.
Cox praised officials on the new school, saying it was “impressive.” She also congratulated them on their most recent AYP scores.
Cox then listened to budgetary and other concerns during a brief reception, but told school leaders that she couldn’t tell them anything about the budget, except that “it’s gonna be bad.”
She said she didn’t expect a lot of changes for 2009, but to “batten the hatches” for 2010. “I’m really worried about 2010 – you need to be thinking about that right now,” she said.
