Monumental election day is finally here

Talk politics to anyone, regardless of their political persuasion, and one thing is clear, the exhaustion.

Who isn’t ready to get this thing done? Who doesn’t feel the heavy weight of campaign overload?

Well, thank goodness, that long-awaited day is finally here. Voters will hit the polls today to offer the only voice that truly counts at election time, the voice of the people.

Naturally, in a time of great anxiety, the presidential race dominates most discussions, but there is a lot at stake locally, too.

County voters will make decisions for sheriff, tax commissioner, probate judge, state senator, U.S. Congress, school board (district 3) and county commission (districts 4 and 5).
