Advance voting was a hit in Madison County, with 6,048 out of 16,154 registered voters (37.4 percent) casting early ballots.
Early voting opened Sept. 22 in the county registrar’s office and continued through Friday, with the office staying open until 7 p.m. last week to accommodate voters.
Over 600 absentee ballots were also issued for the general election.
