Georgia voters gave approval to two of three constitutional amendments Tuesday.
Sixty eight percent of Georgia voters approved an amendment to encourage preservation of Georgia forests through conservation property tax reduction, with 70.6 percent of county voters approving the measure.
Fifty one percent of voters approved an amendment to allow local school districts to use tax funds for community redevelopment purposes. Madison County voters disapproved of this amendment, with 54.8 percent voting “No.” Fifty one percent of Georgia voters said “No” to an amendment to allow the creation of special “Infrastructure Development Districts” for underserved areas, with 59.6 percent of Madison County voters going against the proposal.
