Man faces family violence charges

Charles Edward Braswell, 43, of 344 Wesley Chapel Road, was arrested and charged with an order to incarcerate for child support, two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and battery FVA.

According to the incident report, Deputy Gary Floyd responded to the domestic complaint and found Mrs. Braswell standing behind a vehicle in the yard. She reported that her husband, Charles, had been pushing her around, sticking his finger in her face and had hit her in the face with a book.

She reportedly tried to lock herself and two children in the bathroom, but Braswell had blocked the door. The juveniles had witnessed the altercation and the victim’s father told Deputy Floyd that this was a “recurring problem” and that he is afraid for his daughter’s life. The victim had marks on her chest and a red swollen spot on the side of her head, the deputy noted.

•James Christopher Rowden, 35, 570 Ed Coile Road, Hull, pedestrian under the influence.

•Venessa Lynn Turner, 29, 2398 James Spring Road, Danielsville, probation violation (original charge: forgery in the first degree).

•Rhonda Beasley, 39, 3250 Athens Road, Royston, expired vehicle tag or decal and no insurance.

•Robert Antonio Davis, 26, 1019 Evergreen Drive, Elberton, hold for Elbert County.

•Andrew Curtis Heard, 63, 175 West Beaverdam Road, Winterville, bench warrant.

•Robert David Jordan, 45, Comer Road, Comer, burglary.

•Martin Teran Juarez, 30, 1495 Hwy. 29 North, Athens, driving without a license and speeding.

•Christopher Michael Mitchell, 18, P.O. Box 645, Danielsville, DUI and failure to drive within a single lane.

•Roy D. Moore Jr., 50, 41 West Church Street, Elberton, driving while license withdrawn and speeding.

•Janet Kelly Rice, 37, 264 North Fourth Street, Colbert, probation violation.
