A Danielsville man was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court on various theft and drug charges.
Tommy Lee Gaddis, 47, Danielsville, was sentenced to five years probation for motor vehicle chop shop and Stolen and Altered Property Act, two counts of possession of tools for the commission of a crime, theft by receiving stolen property, theft by taking, marijuana — less than an ounce and possession of methamphetamine. He was also fined $3,197.
Other actions filed in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Madison County include:
•Bobby Lee Noell, 65, Hull, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $512 for aggravated assault.
•Johnny Chance Shedd, 18, Colbert, was sentenced to 10 years probation and fined $840 for burglary.
•Deborah Jean Flannigan, 30, Cumming, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $1,140 for possession of methamphetamine. Charges of possession of tools for the commission of a crime and giving false information were dismissed.

•Christopher Ray Ogle, 19, Winterville, was sentenced to seven years probation for possession of cocaine and possession, manufacture or distribution of marijuana. He was also fined $2,015. Two counts of possession of tools for the commission of a crime and one count of carrying a concealed weapon, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, speeding and no proof of insurance.
•Betty Ridenour, 46, Comer, was sentenced to 10 years probation and fined $1,465 for fraudulent insurance claims.
But this man never serves any prison time. He always receives probation, and he goes back to stealing immediately. He'll be right back in this paper in no time.
Why? Who is the judge? Why does he let this repeat offender walk every time?
Your anger is misplaced, "Anonymous."
If the evidence wasn't "strong enough" you wouldn't evade punishment...you would be found not guilty.
The question remains: Who is the judge who keeps letting this criminal walk and why? What do we tell the person whose car is probably being stolen RIGHT NOW when they want to know why this multiple repeat offender was let off time after time?
The charges are always the same: drugs, auto theft, theft of auto parts. I've seen this same person in the paper found guilty of these charges at least 3 times, maybe more.
Why is he being put back in our community to continue stealing cars, stealing property, and dealing Meth? I thought it was "3 strikes and you're out." Gaddis is out, but the judge is leaving him in the game to keep swinging, and with every swing, someone's car gets stolen.
What is wrong in Madison County? No wonder Clayton Lowe got booted out. How can we give the judge in these cases the boot? Who was the judge in this case? Why isn't the judge named in the story?
In the time honored tradition of the Democratic Party, vote early and vote often!
Throw the bums out! Superior Court judges and District Attorneys are both elected officials.
Got another civics question? Ask me.
As for your other rhetorical question, sentencing recommendations, jail overcrowding, alternative punishments...
P.S. Make up a name.... it gets old talking to all you anonymous people. Or, are you afraid of big bad Tommy Gaddis?
