Actions filed recently in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court include:

•McKenely Ray Hendrix, 31, Hull, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $607 for simple battery.

•Bonnie Dee Reeve, 63, Danielsville, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $830 for reckless driving (reduced from DUI drugs). A charge of failure to maintain lane was dismissed.

•Quinn Kellum, 33, Comer, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $881 for DUI alcohol. A charge of failure to maintain lane was dismissed.

•Katie Lyn Moore, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $1,480 for reckless driving (reduced from DUI alcohol). A charge of failure to maintain lane was dismissed.

•Sherwin Mendy Fattig, 34, Commerce, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $270 for theft by taking.

It seems all people caught with drugs get probation in Madison County

I no someone who has gotten by with everything but murder in madsion county and all he has gotten is probation, where is the justice in the county? He jsut recently got busted again with large amounts of drugs and I am intrested to see just what kind of punishment her will get this time. Isn't there a 3 strikes law in georgia??? Maybe I could move to madison county and rob a bank and get probation. I am fed up with our system.

well I would hope to ot go to jail for a very simple charge, you might be in there for 3 to 4 days what is town the twilight zone ? it si 2008 too bad the danielsville lady who stole didnt stay for a long time . I need a job working in the city of danielsville. I know it would be easy I wouldnt have to do anything

It's not the people taking drugs I'm worried about. It's all the thieves. They all get probation, too.

We didn't need a new jail...everybody gets probation.

I continue to be amazed at the number of DUI cahages that are dismissed, whether it be for DUI(alchol)or DUI(drugs). Tha Athens Banner states that the number of DUI convictions are down in Georgia. If all the courts are like unto Madison County then MOST DUI offenses are dismissed, SO no conviction. Where fore art though judges who aren't afraid not to dismisse these charges. The county needs the money (fines) so crime is a money making thing for the county,get it?

They all need jail time...do a little time (a few months) and then if you do it again...a little more time, third time...SERIOUS TIME.
