The contention is over the recent article stating that the Iraqis and the U.S. troops had successfully removed 550 metric tons of uranium yellow cake out of the volatile Mideast. Iran is not far from the Iraqi atomic fuel site, and it is right next door to the Shiite Muslims, and Sadr’s army. The removal of that much uranium ore, even if it was from before the 1991 Iraq war, is good news. Unlike the national media, I hope our local media can be fair and unbiased. Here are multiple links to this factual occurrences:

•http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/yellowcake.asp, http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/u/uraniumyellowcake.htm.
•http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowcake, probably the most factual:

Many of the articles are not wholly factual, but the fact is that this much uranium ore, once enriched, is enough to build two or more uranium 235 atomic bombs; or provide fuel for nuclear reactors, where the side product is plutonium, which could make about 30 plus plutonium atomic bombs, all city destroyers. Or many more dirty bombs that would be area denial devices; ie. Wall Street, the U.S. Capitol, transportation hubs, airports, etc; that would cost millions of dollars and weeks to clean up.
As far as weapons of mass destruction, in addition to the above, many degraded chemical munitions were found. Not usable in their current form, they however could be repackaged, and used as terror weapons: http://www.defenselink.mil/news/newsarticle.aspx?id=15918
Thus, these facts demonstrate that there were WMD concerns in Iraq, and at least a partial reason for the 2003 war. The invasion and aftermath, was not handled well by the political cadre, “Whiz Kids,” who thought they knew more than the trained military, much like in Vietnam. We will soon be closing the book on the Iraqi invasion and nation rebuilding, the Iraqi government controls 15 of the 18 provinces, and the Al Qaeda in Iraq is being decimated. It could have been handled much better if we had gone in with proper military planning and execution; the occupation and subsequent rebuilding would have been faster and probably cheaper.
President Bush is a C- president, some would rate him an F, others a B+, but none an A. All presidents try their best, as they see it, and all have errors, scandals and dubious associations. All could be impeached for many reasons; but only two have, Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Many in our current Congress could not stand the bright light of ethical inquiry, and thus can’t throw stones because they live in glass houses. Much further information is available from www.JudicialWatch.org.
Additionally, such an impeachment would not happen, because the American people are fatigued from three years of presidential campaigning. So, though the zealots want blood, most of the people want to go back to work and normalcy. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Bruce B. Lind

Bush's casus belli was made up from whole cloth and sold by criers the likes of Chicken Little.
Bush and several like him are liars and cheats, and should be jailed for their crimes.
thank you ....even I know ...it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round.
We were taken to war and lost thousands of American lives and directly contributed to hundreds of thousands of deaths in Iraq by a President who knowingly lied to create a war for his own gain and so his political contributors could profit.
We must never allow this to happen again. We need to follow the Constitution: War can only be declared by Congress. No declaration of war? Then, NO WAR. Period.
