Actions filed recently in the Office of the Clerk of Madison County Superior Court include:
•Rebecca Naomi Wilson, 58, 2720 Bond Bridge Road, Royston, was sentenced by Judge Chris Phelps to one year probation and was fined $387 for theft by shoplifting (reduced from a felony to misdemeanor). Wilson was also sentenced to one year probation and fined $130 for obstruction of officers.
•Edward Lawrence Graham, 57, 4124 Hwy. 142, Newborn, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation, 40 hours community service and was fined $655 for driving under the influence of multiple substances. He was also sentenced to one year probation and fined $598 for possession of marijuana — less than an ounce and driving on the wrong side of the road. Charges of open container violation, notice of change of address or name, receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by convicted felon and possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a license were disposed of through nolle prosequi — meaning the charges won’t be prosecuted now but could be later.
•Lorenze Boyd Gonnie, 43, Holbrook, Ariz. was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation, 40 hours of community service and was fined $640 for DUI alcohol. A charge of DUI was disposed of through nolle prosequi.
•Robert Tyler Lacount, 65, 2450 Diamond Hill Neese Road, Hull, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation for simple assault.
•Jeffrey Jacob Lawton, 21, 1519 Clary Cut Road, Harlem, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation for battery.
•Santarius Jackson, 23, 107 Noah’s Way, Colbert, was sentenced by Judge Jeffery Malcom to one year probation and fined $472 for simple battery under the Family Violence Act (FVA). A charge of failure to appear was dismissed.
•Melissa Ann Adams, 48, 1559 Archer Grove School Road, Athens, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation and was fined $657 for two counts of giving false information to law officers. Charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects were disposed of through nolle prosequi.
•Paul Wayne Newbury, 35, 2021 Della Slaton Road, Comer, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation and was fined $682 for reckless driving. Charges of possession of methamphetamine, driving under the influence of multiple substances and speeding were disposed of through nolle prosequi.
•George Gerald Jordan, 49, Lot #31 Sanders Road, Hull, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation, 40 hours of community service and was fined $491 for DUI alcohol. He was sentenced to one year probation and fined a total of $490 for failure to maintain lane and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Carlos Teran Jr., 20, 170 Willis Glenn Road, Hull, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation, 24 hours confinement, 40 hours community service and was fined $425 for DUI under 21. He was sentenced to one year probation and fined $580 for possession of marijuana — less than an ounce. Charges of DUI, driving while license suspended or revoked, failure to maintain lane, DUI, license to be carried and exhibited on demand and tire requirements were disposed of through nolle prosequi.
•Elisha Jane Cook, 26, 1785 River Road, Carlton, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to six months probation and was fined $136 for speeding.
•John Michael Baker, 40, 443 Dooley Road, Gainesville, was sentenced by Judge Malcom to one year probation and was fined $387 for forgery in the fourth degree (reduced from forgery in the second degree). He was also sentenced to one year probation and fined a total of $650 for theft by shoplifting and obstruction of officers.
•Quendarius Vernard Crowder, 19, 455 Maplewood Lane, Hull, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation and 10 hours community service for affray.
•Bruce Allen Smith, 32, 3318 Smithonia Road, Comer, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation and fined $337 for forgery in the fourth degree. He was also sentenced to one year probation, 40 hours of community service and was fined $640 for DUI drugs. A charge of improper backing was disposed of through nolle prosequi.
•Jacob Bo Sargent, 18, 6845 Hwy. 29, Hull, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation and fined $337 for simple battery. He was also sentenced to one year probation $337 for affray. He was sentenced to one year probation for disrupting public school.
•Kasey Dewayne Roth, 23, 800 Esco Road, Comer, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to two years probation for possession of a schedule IV controlled substance; and one year probation for possession of marijuana — less than an ounce; sale, distribution, possession of dangerous drugs. She was fined a total of $975.
•Bruce Allen Smith, 32, 3318 Smithonia Road, Comer, was sentenced by Judge Phelps to one year probation and fined $337 for forgery in the fourth degree.
