Last week I attended the 50th year anniversary of my high school class. That’s right. I graduated from high school fifty years ago! My first reaction to this event was surprise. How could it be fifty years already? That is half a century! But when I stopped and thought of all the events and changes the class of ‘58 has witnessed, the years are clearly accounted for.

I have a new toy. Now I am not heavily into the latest technology. I still do not have an iPod, or Bluetooth, for example. My television is still not a digital although it looks like I may have to buy one by the end of the year. I have a basic cell phone that does not take pictures or read my e-mail. I do not quite fit the profile of a high-tech redneck!
Georgia has had a long history of one party politics. In the past, the real elections in the state were not in November. It was all over by the summer because the winner of the Democratic Primary was assured the office. [Full Story »]
