A hayfield next to our house caught on fire June 7 and as we all know, as dry as it’s been the fire quickly spread. It took several fire departments and several volunteer fireman to get the fire under control and stop it before homes and barns were destroyed.

Dear Editor:

A while back there was a vote by the Madison County commissioners to limit the powers of the chairman of the board. The voters of Madison County elected the chairman to that office with the powers that were taken away by a majority vote of the commissioners.
